Magic

A guest just walked by the front desk, and as he walked by, he smiled and said, "the heat's working great," I suppose in response to me having fixed his heater the previous night. My question is: Why doesn't this happen at a more appropraite time, like just after I've said to a girl, "Come out with me and I'll warm up your life a little." I have to plan these things more carefully.
